The Healthcare Assistant role at Vigil Care
Our Healthcare Assistants provide practical, non-clinical support that helps adults live with dignity and independence at home. You will build trusted relationships with the people you visit, encourage routines and wellbeing, and be a reassuring, familiar presence. We do not carry out regulated clinical tasks - the focus is on companionship, home help and welfare - so you can concentrate on genuinely supporting each person.
Everyday support
Help with light domestic tasks, shopping and simple meals so home life stays manageable.
Wellbeing and routine
Encourage hydration, medication prompts and calming routines, and monitor how someone is doing.
Companionship
Meaningful conversation and social connection that reduces isolation and lifts the day.
